Year 7 Mouldy Bread Experiment
20th Oct 2021
As part of our World Around Us topic of ‘Micro-organisms’ we have been looking at bacteria, fungi and viruses. We conducted an experiment to show how much bacteria there is all around us and the effect of bacteria on food. The experiment involved putting four slices of bread into separate bags. Each slice of bread was passed around the classroom when children had dirty hands, when they washed their hands with soap and water, when they used hand sanitiser and when the bread was wiped on the computer keyboards. We enjoyed observing the change to the bread over time and can now clearly see the importance of washing our hands!
