Year 5 and 7 Discover Maths in Motion with Fitness Instructor Scott McGarry!
Scott, the fitness instructor, shared valuable insights with the pupils about the important role maths plays in his job and business. He explained how he uses numbers like BMI and percentages to track how well his clients are doing.
Scott also talked about how he uses maths to create workout plans. He carefully calculates things like how much resistance, how many times to repeat exercises, the number of sets, and how long to rest between exercises. This helps make sure the workouts are both effective and safe.
He mentioned that running a fitness business involves using maths for things like managing money, keeping track of expenses, and figuring out profits. Knowing maths is crucial for calculating how much money is coming in, how much is going out, and how much profit is being made.
The pupils learned that maths helps make smart decisions, keep an eye on client progress, create good workouts, manage money, and make sure the fitness business is doing well. As a special treat, the pupils got to join one of Scott's fitness classes. Thanks to Scott for spending his time and expertise to teach and inspire us.
