We have been learning all about knights, materials and weapons as part of our Castles topic. We have explored coats of arms that knights would have used to identify themselves and then designed our own to represent ourselves. We looked at the different materials knights would have used to protect themselves and in battle. During a science investigation we tested a variety of materials for their elasticity. We found that a rubber band is extremely stretchy and so we used it to make our own catapults. We worked with our partner, tested our catapults and measured the distance our ‘missile’ travelled. It was very exciting! We have also been getting ready for Hallowe’en by writing some spooky sentences and creating some beautiful silhouette paintings.
