Year 3 were delighted to welcome Sinead Hamill, a diabetic midwife into their classroom today. They learnt how to calculate insulin dosages for pregnant women based on their blood sugar levels. Sinead also gave the pupils the opportunity to use syringes to measure out medicine, linking it to our Capacity topic. Scales were also used to weigh out different weighted babies which were then ordered from heaviest to lightest.
Year 3 loved learning about Sinead’s job and how she problem solves daily to overcome challenges. What a great start to Maths Week!
