Year 7 have been ‘hands on’ as part of their Maths Mastery lessons.
The pupils further developed their mathematical language and skills by learning how to measure angles using protractors and how to draw circles using compasses.
The pupils explored the angle of athletes’ arms, gymnasts’ legs, hurlers’ and footballers’ arms.They measured the circumference of the circle with string and worked out the relationship between the circumference and the diameter.
The Year 7s have also been looking at the nets of 3D shapes, as well as investigating which configuration of 6 squares fold to make a cube.
