Swimming Lessons under Covid Regulations were able to recommence in September and Mrs McAleer’s and Mrs Halloran’s Year 7s have enjoyed their weekly outing to the Leisure Centre. The pupils had missed out on their Year 5 and Year 6 swimming lessons so they all appreciated the opportunity to take part this year.
There was great excitement for some, while for others there was a little bit of anxiety on the first Friday afternoon. Over the next 5 Fridays, the non swimmers gained confidence in the water, putting their heads under water and floating in the water unaided.
The swimmers among the class were able to improve their swimming strokes along with breathing techniques enabling them to become more competent swimmers.
