Healing with Numbers: A Nurse’s Maths Magic in Year 2!
Year 2 were ecstatic today as they received a visit from a nurse to celebrate Maths Week.
Ciara discussed with the pupils how she uses maths to ensure the well-being of her patients. She demonstrated using scales how she weighs babies, she measured the circumference of the pupil’s heads using measuring tapes and used a stethoscope to listen to their heartbeat. The pupils got to join in and become nurses for the day. They even got to use syringes to measure medicine, just like Ciara would do.
Year 2 had lots of fun learning about Ciara’s job and how she uses maths to solve problems. Ella and Annie loved having their mum in school today.
A massive thanks to Ciara, we had the best day!
