14th Apr 2024
Miss McKinley’s Year 6 class had the pleasure of hosting Geoff Maskell, the BBC’s NI Weather Presenter into their classroom. Geoff shared insights into his role as a Weather Presenter, showcasing weather graphs and explaining how he interprets weather patterns. He also discussed Climate Change and emphasised the importance of collective action in improving our world.
Prior to his visit, the pupils worked in pairs to research various weather phenomena such as Tornadoes, Snow, Hailstones, Thunder and Lightning, Cyclones, and Typhoons. They compiled their findings into fact files and presented them to Geoff.
Geoff's enthusiasm for his profession inspired the pupils, encouraging them to consider a future in Meteorology. What an unforgettable experience!
