Year 6 were investigating forces in action through their topic of The Raiders. They learnt how pushes and pulls could be used to power the longships. They constructed their own boats from recycled materials and tested them to see if they would float. They considered the shape and weight of their boats and learnt about the force called ‘upthrust’.
Further fun was had demonstrating how pushes and pulls work when they made ‘Marshmallow Rockets’! By pulling back on the balloon they saw how the marshmallow was rocketed into the air!
