Finding out about Fair Trade
26th Mar 2024
Our Year 6 pupils have been learning about the work of Fairtrade and the impact it has on farmers and producers in the Third World. They were amazed to hear how dependent we are on farmers throughout the world for our food. We investigated the journey of the banana from its growth to the shop floor and also the stages involved in the production of chocolate. They designed posters to inform others about the benefits of Fairtrade and took up the challenge to find and buy products with the Fairtrade logo. They enjoyed this topic and are even more delighted that they can help others by buying these products.
