My Family
As I lay in bed the other night,
I prayed and prayer with all my might,
That in God’s pocket my family would stay,
From now to forever and every day.
I prayed for family members absent and present,
I prayed for creatures from mice to pheasants,
I asked God, ‘Please keep us safe,
And give us strength to grow in love and grace.’
Although God never answers back in a voice like you or me,
I know my prayers are always heard and by my side he’ll always be.
