Climate Change Workshop
Jack McCready from Sentinus delivered a workshop on Climate Change to the Year 7s.
The presentation included the nature of seasons/weather/climate, greenhouse gases and the greenhouse effect, impacts of climate change and what we can do to combat it.
The workshop included demonstrations relating to the seasons and the greenhouse effect.
The pupils then carried out an investigation about melting ice and rising sea levels. The pupils set up a fair test to ascertain whether the ice on the land or the ice in the sea contributes more to rising sea levels. The pupils discovered that the ice melting from the land contributes more to rising sea levels compared to the ice in the sea.
Year 7 showed what they had learned by designing posters on the effects of Climate Change.
